Civic association and health center host program on viruses

BAYONNE – Area residents who braved the rain received their fill of information on communicable diseases and how to avoid them at a program at the St. Vincent De Paul Church on Avenue C on Thursday, Nov. 6.
Dr. Nina Cheung, of Astra Health Centers of Bayonne and Hoboken, presented the “Ebola, Enterovirus, Influenza and You: What You Need to Know to Stay Safe and Healthy” public program.
Dr. Cheung talked about the importance of obtaining a flu shot every year, the differences between viruses and bacteria, and the proper practices to minimize the catching and passing on of illnesses.
The event was sponsored by the association of Third Ward Councilman Gary La Pelusa.
