Bajor Sparks Bengals Comeback Win

Sitting at (0-1), the Chargers were eager to right the ship when they took on the Eagles for a JCC of Bayonne Sr. Division show down. In less than five minutes, the Chargers’ steam rolling offense built a 16-0 lead with James Johnson notching a TD and 2 two point conversions while Kevin Aguilar also tacked on a TD. The Chargers seemed unstoppable as QB Brandon Kobryn rang up points on his first two passes. As their offense cashed in, the Chargers’ defense swarmed the Eagles as James Johnson tallied an interception with a 20 yard return. Stunned by the bulldozing of their ranks, the Eagles slowly began to rally as James Bajor hauled in a 10 yard TD pass followed by Jacob Kowals’ sliding two point grab to cut the Chargers’ lead to 16-8. Sensing a swing in momentum, the Eagles’ defense racked up a safety as Anthony Minotto, Ashley Solis, and Chris Ballance teamed up to trap the Chargers’ runner in the endzone. With the ball and only trailing 16-10, the Eagles went to the air again as James Bajor reeled in a 32 yard TD bomb to knot the battle at 16-16. Finding themselves in a toe to toe donnybrook, the Chargers fired back with a long run by Kasper Hooks and shot tosses to Jalen Nash and Jaden Subacz but once again the Eagles’ defense stiffened in the red zone. Looking to catch the Chargers off guard the Eagles turned to Ryan Ballance who answered with two key offensive grabs to eat up some clock and prep his squad for a shot at the end zone. Moments later the Eagles hit paydirt as James Bajor corralled a TD and two point catch to put the Eagles up 24-16. Staring at one shot to tie the bout the Chargers unleashed a zone to zone pass but the Eagles defensive held on as Minotto, Bajor, and Erik Solis out leaped the Chargers receivers to seal the win.
