Three arrests during prostitution sting

SECAUCUS—The Secaucus Police Department has reported the arrest of three individuals as the result of an undercover prostitution sting on Oct. 30 at a local hotel.
A 51-year-old woman from Jersey City and a 28-year-old woman from Hillside were charged with engaging in prostitution after an undercover officer responded to an ad listed by the defendants on a classified advertisement website. A meeting was arranged and the women were subsequently placed under arrest when they arrived at the hotel to allegedly complete the sexual transaction. The Hillside woman also had two, undisclosed active warrants for her arrest. A third individual at the scene was also arrested on an undisclosed active warrant.
Previously on Oct. 3, Secaucus Police arrested three individuals for allegedly soliciting prostitution during a reverse undercover sting.
Acting Police Chief John Cerny said, “We are continuing to remain proactive by targeting both prostitutes and their customers as we conduct various types of stings on a regular basis. This is just one aspect of our overall campaign regarding quality of life issues. We are also investigating any complaints of drug activity, underaged drinking, as well as any traffic safety related issues such as speeding in residential neighborhoods.”
