Funeral services have been held for Patsy Fermo, of Toms River, formerly of Jersey City. A father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he passed away at home on Aug. 16 after a brief battle with cancer. He was an avid card player, patient checker player and enjoyed puzzles of all kinds. Patsy had a quick mind and generous heart. He was a champion golden gloves boxer in his youth and a champion in the hearts of his loved ones. He loved to fish, enjoyed crabbing and being near the water, but most of all he loved his family.
Patsy was pre-deceased by his wife Evie, his parents Louise and Salvatore Fermo and his brother John. He is survived by his son, Patrick and daughter-in- law, Mary Lou: grandchildren Kate, Patrick, Maggy and great grandson Carter, his daughter, Linda Fermo-Garcia and son-in-law, Jose Garcia, grandchildren Brandon and Jason, his brother and best friend Angelo Fermo, his sister Ella Vasalli, his neighbors and good friends Teddy and Anita Vassallo and a number of nieces and nephews all of whom will miss him dearly. He is once again reunited with his wife of 50 years, Evelyn Kelley Fermo. Services arranged by the Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, Toms River.
