Towns get grants for public safety

JERSEY CITY — The Hudson County Board of Freeholders approved the County of Hudson to apply for $288,566 from the 2014 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program to allow local municipalities to support activities to prevent and control crime.
The following municipalities are eligible to receive the following JAG funds in Hudson County: City of Bayonne, $15,715; City of Hoboken, $16,924, City of Jersey City, $198,505, Township of North Bergen, $10,027, City of Union City, $27,769, Town of West New York, $19,626.
