To the Editor:
In my humble opinion, Bayonne will soon be losing the services of the very finest endocrinologist ever to practice medicine. Although I wish Dr. Danuta Silber good health and much happiness during her retirement, I will miss her caring and compassionate manner and her ability to always prescribe the right measures at the right time. On several occasions, her quick thinking and appropriate actions have literally saved my life and I will always be grateful to her for the superb health care she administered.
Dr. Silber’s retirement leaves Bayonne with a problem. Many other patients require the attention of an endocrinologist as their primary care physician, and all of their patients must continue to have access to this specialized type of medical care when required. However, there is no other endocrinologist in Bayonne. It’s time for one of the health care entities in this city to obtain the services of a full time endocrinologist to fill this void. Bringing someone in Bayonne once a month or once a week is not enough; we need a full time practitioner. I respectfully request that this need be addressed as soon as possible so that the residents of Bayonne can continue to receive necessary health care.
