SECAUCUS – According to a recent press release, officials for the town of Secaucus, MetLife Stadium, and the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority (NJSEA) agreed on a plan to address future noise concerns arising from concerts and other outdoor events at the stadium and IZOD Center.
The NJSEA and MetLife agreed to monitor sound levels during events and develop improved lines of communication so that concerns can be addressed immediately. They will also notify Secaucus in advance of events so that residents can be advised.
The discussion was prompted when the Electric Daisy Carnival held at MetLife Stadium over the Memorial Day weekend resulted in more than 100 noise complaints from the Town of Secaucus. Sound levels reportedly reached 90 decibels – 25 decibels above the allowable level after 10 p.m. Following the concert the town of Secaucus issued more than $15,000 worth of summonses for excess noise to NJSEA, MetLife, and the concert promoter, the aptly named Insomniac, Inc.
