A funeral service took place July 15 at the Metropolitan A.M.E.Zion, Jersey City, for Edward Nathaniel Adams, Sr. He passed away July 8 at the Jersey City Medical Center. He was born to Frances and David Adams in Charleston, S.C. He had three brothers and one sister. In 1942, Eddie joined the US Navy and served during WWII and afterwards as US Navy Reservist. He was employed by Fruit Growers Express Railroad for 35 years. He retired as a supervisor.
With his wife, Geneva they raised five children, Saundria, Edward Nathaniel, Jr., Barbara and Anthony. He was predeceased by his son, Edward N. Adams, Jr; his father, David Adams; his mother, Frances Adams; his brothers, Willie, Roper and Hansel and a baby sister. He leaves to mourn his wife, Geneva; four children: Saundria Shaw, Barbara Little (Harry), Darcel Jackson (Anthony) and Anthony Adams; 10 grandchildren: William Neil Shaw, Dana Rogers (Donald), Anthony Shaw, Tanyeka Adams-Butler (Kyle, Sr.), Shana Shaw, Tiara Arroyo (Joel), Shannon Adams, and Nadia Little; and two step-granddaughters, La Shonda Stone(Darrell) and Sahara Aisha Ross; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren ; and a host of other relatives and friends.
