To the Editor:
What an amazing day and night we all experienced on Inauguration Day Bayonne 2014. Did we feel like we had some unity in the community yesterday? I believe so. I would like to personally thank each and every vendor who made the time not only to talk with me and work with me on extremely short notice but also to be a part of a very historic day for the new mayor, his team, the City of Bayonne and all residents.
It was a great experience to not only speak with each vendor but it was great to work hand and hand on getting all of it arranged and putting the plan in motion. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It shows a lot to everyone who attended that we can come together and we will come together piece by piece to revitalize and rebrand our city. Thank you to the following Food vendors:
San Vito (for supplying both a vendor tent and the band tent) Venice, MiCasita Columbiana, Big Apple, Kuhl’s Tavern, Buon Appetite, TGI Fridays, Houlihan’s, Connie’s Kitchen & Delicatessen, East Coast Caterers, Mona Lisa, Lot 13, Yummy Yummy, Tony’s Pizzaria, Scarpello Meatballs, Joe’s Pizza, the Indian Society from Bayonne, John the owner of Garden State News and Mc Fadden’s Pub, Alex from 34th and Ave E Hotdog Stand and last but not least, the new owners at Hendrickson’s.
All the above vendors donated their time, food, and efforts for a great cause and they should be commended. A special thank you to Alex from the hot dog stand on 34th and E and Bob and Lou from Hendricksons as they not only served their own donated food but also helped out a great deal more as they served hot dogs and hamburgers that were donated from Shoprite. Next time you stop into any of the above vendors, give them a nice thank you. I am sure it will mean a lot.
I would like to also thank Tony at Vital Signs, Shoprite and Kens Marine, for being more than generous and really keeping the communication open and helping at every angle.
Thank you also to Beth Jessen and Erica Daughtrey for working with me, and Mary Dunlap-Beales, who really took charge of the volunteers at the tents and seriously made sure everything flowed. Thank you also to the Bayonne Health Dept, Public Works, Fire Dept, Police Dept, McCabes, Jersey City Medical Center and everyone else who made everything seamless. The Volunteers (Budnik and Irving) and everyone else on the Davis team and at Kennedy Events who made this event special and flawless, thank you so much. We have so much to look forward to working together as a community. If there is anyone I forgot, I am sorry. Looking ahead, I am anxious and excited to play a part moving in the right direction with all of the community involved.
