Jersey City — Mayor Steven Fulop joined with JPMorgan Chase to announce the launch of the Jersey City Summer Internship Program (JCSI) today at St. Peter’s University. JCSI is a competitive program that connects high-achieving rising high school juniors and seniors from Jersey City’s public high schools to paid, six-week-long internships with prominent private sector and nonprofit institutions, the majority located in Jersey City. JPMorgan Chase & Co. is the JCSI program’s lead sponsor and underwrote today’s Orientation event.
The JCSI program is a signature component of the city’s JC Summer Works Initiative. Offering paid summer job opportunities, professional development, mentorship, and enrichment activities to youth ages 15 to 21, JCSI will expose students to professional level work and practical experience. The jobs will primarily be concentrated in the private sector, with a particular focus on the financial services industry, as well as other rising sectors within Jersey City’s dynamic economy (i.e.manufacturing, hospitality, and healthcare).
