Free Cubanoson concert among UC festivities on July 2

UNION CITY – Mayor Brian Stack and the Board of Commissioners announce that the City of Union City will be holding their annual Independence Day celebration on Wednesday, July 2 from 6 to 10 p.m. along Palisade Avenue from 9th to 15th Streets in Union City.
This year’s festivities will include many rides and activities for children, an art exhibit, classic cars, a history exhibit, free hot dogs and water, and live music. Admission to the event is free and everyone is invited to attend.
At 7 p.m. Papo Ortega’s Cubanoson, New York’s Cuban Orchestra will perform a free concert, including tunes from their most recent CD “Rumba Nueva” as well as old favorites. Cubanoson’s live and recorded performances are known for their classic Cuban rhythms.
