To the Editor:
As my fourth child completes her time with the city’s Department of Recreation Preschool program at the library, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the staff at the school. This was our first experience with Mrs. Donna after our first three children spent two years each with Miss Edie and both of these teachers and their staffs are true assets to our city’s educational environment.
The staff of this preschool creates a wonderfully nurturing and caring environment that allows the three and four year-olds to learn, create, socialize, and have fun. The creativity that the teachers show is astounding and the children walk out of class each day smiling with pride about what they have learned and created. Not only do the children learn colors, shapes, letters, and numbers, they learn about themselves, each other, and the world around them. The teachers leave no stone unturned in terms of finding ways for the children to learn in a manner that makes the children think that they are doing little more than having a good time. It would be difficult to find a group of teachers who are more devoted to the happiness and wellbeing of their students. I will be forever grateful to Miss Edie and Mrs. Donna and their incredible staffs for creating in my children a love and excitement for learning and for school. Our three and four year-olds are so precious to us, and all parents are compelled to find the best possible situations for our children. I feel incredibly fortunate that our city runs a program that is so valuable to our children and to us.
To Mrs. Donna, Mrs. S., Mrs. Heidi, Miss Edie, Mrs. Chris, and Miss Kelsey, thank you, and we will miss you.
