When most people think about smoothies, they imagine that these blended shakes are good for their health. While smoothies can be delicious and packed with nutrients, they can also be laden with sugar if not made properly.
The next time you reach for a premade smoothie, check out the label. Sure, the smoothie may contain ingredients such as wheatgrass, spirulina, or vegetables, but likely the sugar content is high due to an abundance of concentrated fruit juices. Your intentions are good, but pumping your body with a smoothie that contains as much sugar as a soda is not a good idea!
So, what’s a smoothie lover to do? Kick the habit altogether? Never! There are a few secrets that will help your smoothie relationship move from a sugary seasonal fling into a healthy long-term partnership.
Never Fear, Healthy Smoothies Are Here!
The smoothies in my new collection are excellent for your health. Each one features ingredients with high fiber, protein, and no added sugar. Some of the recipes are designed for day-to-day use, while others are specially prepared for the days you’re cleansing. We’ve even included treat recipes that are still healthy (how do you feel about chocolate?).
Here’s just one of the delicious smoothie recipes:
