Dear Editor:
I can’t imagine any of us want the long-term disabled folks in Hoboken living on the streets. (I am not talking about those whose only issue [or should I say primary issue] is alcoholism.)
I’m talking about the two women with horrific levels of hygiene who’ve been homeless here for at least 10 years; the man who grew up here and has been homeless for 30 years and understand nothing.
I don’t know why they have fallen through the cracks but we need a system for housing them immediately.
If the county can’t handle it we should and could do it ourselves.
These people are ill and in dire straits.
Sincerely,
Dumbfounded
