A funeral mass was held April 23 at St. Paul’s Church, Greenville, for William “Bill” Gilson, 58, a lifetime resident of Jersey City. He died peacefully at his home on April 18. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Paul’s, Greenville. Bill was a long time employee of Party City. Bill loved bowling and belonged to three different leagues. He bowled three 300 games in his career. Bill’s spectacular Christmas train displays brought joy to his family every holiday season.
Bill was the son of Edwin J. Gilson and the late Frances C. Gilson. He was the brother of Ed and Patty Gilson, Kathy and Ward Byrne, Eileen and Carmen Maietta, Debbie and Jon Webb, Peg and B C Coy; and an uncle to many nieces and nephews, two great nephews and a great niece. Bill was predeceased by his fiance, Eileen Kohler. He will be remembered always as a gentle soul, loved by family and friends. Services arranged by the Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc., Bayonne.
