SECAUCUS – Incumbent Joseph Lewis was reelected to the Secaucus school board on Wednesday. Also elected were Lance Bartletta and Ruby Pantoliano, both new to the board.
Thomas Troyer, who served on the board several times in the past, was also a candidate this year. He was not elected.
Voters also approved a school operations tax levy of $32.7 million for the coming year. This levy will result in an increase of approximately $40 per year to a property owner’s tax bill, based on an average of $175,000 assessment per home. –Art Schwartz
