Come help build Camelot at Leonard Gordon Park: Spring planting

Dear Editor:
On Saturday, May 3, starting at 9 a.m., come help us build up the new, wonderful community gardens at the midpoint entrance to Leonard Gordon Park at Kennedy Blvd. and Sherman Place. Come join the Friends of Leonard Gordon Park as we rebuild this deteriorated, grand historic park. By mid-summer, you will see the completion of the new children’s playground that we’ve designed and had re-located to a safer, more visible spot. Every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., starting the third Saturday in June, come to our new LGP Farmer’s Market. Every Sunday at 9:30 a.m., for an hour or two, come garden with us. And watch for other events we will be having, leading up to a community-based input process to meticulously design a world class park renovation Master Plan over the next 18 months.
With the best panoramic westward views of any Jersey City community park, help us turn the most neglected park into the grandest park, the park with the giant bison and bears. Wear clothes that can get dirty, and we’ll supply the rest of what you need. Come early before it gets too hot.
