HOBOKEN – The Hoboken Police Dept. is searching for Andrew Jarzyk, a 27-year-old Hoboken man who was last seen struggling near his Monroe Street apartment early Sunday morning, said a friend of Jarzyk on Monday morning. Jarzyk is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and 175 pounds with a tall, slender build. He is Caucasian with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Jarzyk was at the West Five Supper Club on Madison Street on Saturday night, where he was with friends, according to the friend. He said that upon leaving the club, Jarzyk apparently went home and changed into exercise clothes, presumably to go for a run as part of his training for an upcoming marathon.
When Jarzyk left his apartment, however, he may have gotten locked out and attempted to reach his apartment via the fire escape. A neighbor saw Jarzyk at this point, apparently the last known contact with Andrew before he disappeared. He was in the area between Fifth and Monroe Streets and Fourth and Jefferson Streets.
Hoboken Police Lieutenant Kenneth Ferrante told Fios1 news on Monday that the department is searching the area around Jarzyk’s disappearance for any clues that might lead to information about his whereabouts. Jarzyk’s sister-in-law, Karyn, told Fios1 that he was very responsible and not the type of person to leave home without telling anyone, especially since his younger sister was staying with him at the time of his disappearance.
According to his Facebook profile, Jarzyk works for PNC Financial Services and is originally from Trenton.
