Empire Realty agents serve Valentine’s Day meal to seniors

For the 4th year in a row, Empire Realty agents served a special extended Valentine’s Day meal to Hoboken’s Senior Citizens at the Multi-Service Center in Hoboken.
Lisa Troyano-Ascolese spearheaded the event, with Chef Rossella Aquila creating the menu and over 20 empire agents volunteering for the event. On the menu were eggs, sausage, potatoes with kielbasa, French Toast and muffins. Volunteers were organized into “stations” and there were several Empire agents working each station so that everything ran smoothly and everyone was fed quickly.
The seniors were treated to the acapella music of international opera singer Kevin Misslich, also an agent with Empire.
After the songs, the seniors were scheduled to play their twice-weekly bingo but instead received a special “penguin” bingo board where everyone won a special prize.
Health and Human Services Director Leo Pellegrini helped introduce the breakfast entertainment and in conjunction with Tom Foley and Cosmo of the Multi-Service Center, helped organize the event and made sure that everything ran smoothly.
The original date of Feb.14 had to be postponed because of a winter storm lasting several days, which would have prevented most of the seniors from reaching the center to enjoy the breakfast.
Since its start eight years ago, Empire has made the Hoboken community an extension of their real estate family. Numerous annual volunteer efforts such as the Hoboken Shelter food drive, Beach clean-up and Jubilee Center Back to School drive have been the brainchild of Empire Cares, Empire Realty Group’s volunteer arm.
Empire specializes in residential and commercial real estate in Hoboken, NJ and throughout Hudson County. www.empiregroup.com
