HUDSON COUNTY — What would it take to get Gov. Christie to do an event with one of his critics, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop? And how do ex-Gov. Jim McGreevey and a bunch of former prisoners figure into this? And what if you throw Jayson Williams in?
Answer: They’re part of a conference about how to assist in prisoner re-entry into society and the job market.
The three officials (McGreevey is a jobs coordinator for the city of Jersey City now) are hosts of the Prisoner Reentry Conference, Thursday, April 17, 2014, 9AM – 4PM. It will be held at Saint Peter’s University, 2641 John F Kennedy Blvd W, Jersey City, NJ.
The conference “will focus upon ex-offenders, successful reentry initiatives, and our attempt to design a model plan for local and regional reentry efforts.”
A schedule has been released, so watch for more details.
Jayson Williams will give a lunchtime address about his reentry experience, and Christie is the keynote speaker.
