GARVIN, VERONICA S.

A funeral mass was performed March 7 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Hoboken, for Veronica S. Garvin, 85 of Hoboken. She passed away March 2. Born in Hoboken to the late James Miele and Margaret Fallon, she was a lifelong resident. She was a devout, lifelong parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Hoboken. There, she was past president of the Rosary Society, instilling in her a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother and was a cook in the Rectory for the parish priests for many years. As a grandmother or “Nanny”, as she was affectionately named, she cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. She kept both her parish, community, family and friends very close to her heart. She is predeceased by her husband John F. and her siblings; Thomas Miele, Frances Palumbo and Francis Miele. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children; Marianne Romano and her husband Joseph, Jacqueline McDonough, Christopher Garvin, Esq, and his wife Kendal and John J. Garvin, Nanny of her grandchildren; John Varellie, Anthony LaForgia, Mary McDonough, Kellie McDonough, Mallory Garvin, Natalie Veronica Garvin, Zachary Harris Garvin and great-grandchildren; Joseph and Benicio LaForgia and Salvatore Varellie. She is also survived by her twin brother James S. Miele. Services arranged by the Earl F. Bosworth Funeral Home, Hoboken.
