Political leader humbly takes responsibility for snow removal shortcomings

JERSEY CITY — A political leader taking the blame and not shifting it? Apparently, it’s possible!
On Facebook on Tuesday, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop humbly took the blame for slow snow cleanup, while reminding residents just how difficult it was this month.
He wrote:
“As we pick up snow yesterday and today we slowly get our feet underneath us I wanted to send a quick note to residents.
“While nobody could have predicted a regional shortage of salt and the amount of snow this winter, I know personally we were in the same predicament as every other city in the area, however, I also know for certain that I am responsible regardless, people don’t want explanations vs results, and that I can do better/will do better.
“You should know that the people from the Jcia/Dpw have worked tirelessly for the last 2 weeks with limited resources and every day has been a learning experience for me which you have given me and that I am thankful to have. That said, Every single day we look to improve and we have room to do just that.
“Just wanted residents to know we are thankful for their cooperation, I understand our strengths and weaknesses, and we will build to improve looking forward.”
