A funeral mass was offered Feb. 8 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Passaic, for Pauline Gaeta, 91, of Brick Township, formally a longtime resident of Hoboken. She passed away Feb. 4 at her home surrounded by her family. Pauline, born to the late Mauro and Chiar Altamuro in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., worked for many years at her family’s Boston Fish Market in Hoboken. She will be missed by her husband of 67 years, Patrick J. Gaeta; and her daughters, Maureen Fontenot and her husband Hillery, and Patricia Phillips and her husband Larry. A great joy in Pauline’s life were her three grandchildren, Lawrence Phillips, Justin Fontenot, and Hilary Fontenot. Also surviving are two brothers-in-law, Anthony Gaeta and Sonny Petruzzelli, a sister-in-law, Josephine Petruzzelli, and a host of nieces and nephews. Pauline was predeceased by her siblings, Vito Altamuro, Mary DeCeasare, and Elizabeth Fusco. Services arranged by the Failla Funeral Home, Hoboken.
