A mass of Christian burial took place Feb. 8 at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Jersey City for Angelo Cannito, 86, of Tinton Falls. He passed away at the Liberty Royal Nursing Home on Feb. 5. Born in Hoboken, Angelo remained a longtime Jersey City resident until retiring to Toms River in 1995. A member of the United States Navy, Angelo proudly served his country aboard the USS Panamint in World War II in the South Pacific. He was a respected coach for many years for the Lincoln Park Little League and worked for the United States Postal Service until retiring in 1995. Angelo was predeceased by his wife, Rita (nee: McHugh) and sons, Frankie and Tommy. He is survived by his children, Catherine and her husband Billy Swart, Trish Milos and her fiance’ Phil Henagen, Gerard Cannito and his wife Connie, Diane and her husband Bobby Carmisino and Greg Milos and Debbie Cannito; 11 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention.
