Twenty-eight (28) athletes representing the Bayonne Recreation Keglers Special Olympics Bowling Team turned in superb performances at the recently-held 2014 SOHC/Area 1 Bowling Meet. The event was contested at the Hudson-Bayonne Lanes (in Jersey City) and the results follow:
7th Place: Michael Walsh
5th Place: Jovanni Torres
4th Place: Maria Bruno, Dennis Driscoll and Elizabeth Wentworth
3rd Place: Nicole Bawiec, Roger Belanger, Marcello Ciccone, Charles Cirillo, Kaitlyn Frey, Violet Malcolm, Richmund McCurnin and Marc Tonzola.
2nd Place; Siearra Battle, Ronald Benitez, Francheska Huentelaf, Barbara Mari, Jude Orlando, Dina Tryon and Elaina Walsh.
1st Place: Lori Brett, Samantha Ciemiecki, Jody Czucza, Wendy DiDomnico, Ian Hudacko, Cheryl Olander, Kimmy Rokicki and Marybeth Yurecko.
All athletes who placed, first, second or third have qualified to participate in the 20-14 SONJ North Jersey Sectional Bowling Meet at the T-Bowl 11 Lanes (in Wayne, N.J.) in early March.
The athletes were accompanied to the meet by their coaches, John Valdora (also Meet Dirctor), Theresa Diaz, Denise Bawiec and Tom Moody, who were ably assisted by Michelle Bawiec, Dina Kosc-Ferrari, Anita Nedswick, Joyce D’Andrea, Rose Marie Yurecko, Barbara Brett, Bayonne Police Officer Miguel Comacho, Bayonne Police Sgt. Michael Valdora, Savannah Valdora, Lilllian and Amber Concepcion and Veronica Burns.
