Super Bowl numerals arrive on Hoboken waterfront

HOBOKEN – A large set of the Super Bowl’s iconic Roman numerals, which most kids can associate with the big game years before they learn to read them in math class, arrived on the Hoboken waterfront on Monday. They will be unveiled Tuesday ahead of a week of festivities throughout Hudson County leading up to Sunday’s game between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks.
The numerals, XLVIII, will be positioned at the end of the Pier A Park with the New York skyline as a backdrop and dedicated in a special ceremony at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, three full lanes of curling, the city’s other Super Bowl attraction, will open on Tuesday at 2 p.m., prior to the unveiling ceremony. The lanes will remain open throughout the week, and curling professionals will be there to teach and demonstrate. Food and beverages will be available as part of the event until 4 p.m.
There are many more events happening around Hudson County, open to the public, as well as transportation discounts, and other Super Bowl related festivities.
