A funeral mass was offered Jan. 18 at St. Aedan’s Church for Carmela Kalb, 77, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. She passed away peacefully on Jan. 13. Carmela was an accounts receivable manager for 17 years for Nationwide Bowling, Jersey City. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking for everyone. Carmela also liked to crochet, sew and make bridal dolls. daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Santomauro) LaBella; wife of the late Robert Kalb; mother of Bernadette Michalkowski, Robert Kalb and his wife Danielle; sister of the belated Rosemarie Vaccaro and Genevieve LaBella; grandmother of Jessica Solano and husband Gabriel, Bobby, JJ and Chris Kalb; great-grandmother “Nonna” of Giovanni and Jaden Solano; Carmela also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and her friend Geraldine Kaufman, among numerous other close friends.
