We take care of our own

To the Editor:

I have been silently watching, these past couple weeks, all of the negativity that has been tainting the pages of our hometown paper. People who have moved out of town, people who haven’t done anything for this town but bring it down with negative comments, people who don’t live here, but want to rule us from out of town. I’m sick of it.
Over the last six years I have watched our town change in many ways, some good, some bad. Over all I think that our Mayor and Council are doing their best to get us back on track. I have noticed little things that they have done making the big picture for Bayonne get better. I have seen most of the vacant lots go from the required covered fence ordinance to development. Take a drive around town, things are being built, houses are looking better. I think that our mayor and the council deserve four more years to finish the job that they started. I am excited to see what type of Bayonne our town will be now that the lawsuits of decades ago are steeled and the base can finally be built. I am excited to see what the permanent home of Royal Caribbean and so many others will make our city. I don’t think we should hand over the keys quite yet, the truth of the matter is, that type of thing happened already in our town and it didn’t have a good outcome. Let them finish the job. I don’t have to leave my house to see that a better Bayonne is just on the horizon.
