A funeral took place Jan. 4 for Dorothy “Dotty” Mazzeo, 88. She passed away Jan. 1 peacefully at home in the comforting company of her family. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Hoboken and along with her husband Patrick they were the owners for many years of the Mazzeo’s Confectionary Candy Store, 606 1st St., Hoboken, and ARRAKS Grocery, 828 Washington St., Hoboken, before retiring. She was a member of Hoboken’s St Peter and Paul Parish. Dotty was the wife of the late Patrick “Patty” Mazzeo (2009); the mother of Karen Petrosky and Patrick Mazzeo (Debbie); sister of Betty Glatt [Dr. Thomas L. Glatt] and Donald Magner (Camille). She was the grandmother of Priscilla (Chris Odgers) and Ron Petrosky, Amy Woolam (Jim), Melissa and Steven Hipp, also the great-grandmother of Matthew, Kate and Olivia Woolam; Carly and Ben Hipp. Dotty is also survived by many neices and nephews.
