To the Editor:
I am responding to letters written in last week’s paper. I was approached by one of Jimmy Davis’s people about possibly helping out with his campaign. I have known Mayor Smith for many years and think he is doing a good job as our mayor, so I declined. I am very happy with that decision, now that I know Mr. Davis left this town for dead for so many years. I think it is shameful for Mr. Davis to leave us then try to return as a knight in shining armor. Mr. Davis needs to explain to us why he left Bayonne for so many years. Also, I wanted to point out a few inaccuracies in Mr. McCarthy’s letter. All city employees already do have to live in town to work for the city.
