Dear Editor:
For over 100 years the United States Postal Service has been receiving letters addressed to Santa Claus. The holiday tradition became so popular that in 1912 Postmaster General Frank Hitchcock created what has come to be known as Operation Santa. That tradition lives on in Hoboken!
As in years past, a mailbox reserved for letters to Santa has been placed in front of the main Post Office at 89 River Street. All letters will be answered by Santa and his helpers, just make sure that a return address is included with each letter.
