A funeral service was held Dec. 18 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Jersey City, for Pastor John David Carter of Jersey City. He passed away Dec. 8. He was the husband of Dolores Carter; father of John H. Carter, Chekesha (Minister Lamar) West, Tamara (Kevin) Taylor, Andrea Carter, Melanie (Eric) Carter-Smith, and Angela Carter; grandfather of eight grandchildren; son of the late John H. and Willie Maude Carter; brother of Willie Frank Carter and Nancy Brown. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Services arranged by the Watson Mortuary Service, Jersey City.
