HOBOKEN – The Hoboken High School Redwings, who won their second state football champion in as many years last weekend, will be honored in a parade on Washington Street on Wednesday, the city announced Tuesday morning.
The Redwings defeated Shabazz High School 13-7 to win the Group I North II Championship, the tenth state title in the school’s history.
The parade will kick off at 3 p.m. on the corner of Eleventh Street and Washington Street and will conclude in front of City Hall, 94 Washington Street. Both the team and its coach, Lou Taglieri, will be honored in the parade.
“Congratulations to Coach Taglieri and the Redwings on their back-to-back championships,” said Mayor Dawn Zimmer. “I invite our community to come out and celebrate their great accomplishment.”
