The funeral liturgy was performed Nov. 30 at St John’s Church, Lakehurst, for James E. Sekelsky, 78, of Leisure Knoll, Manchester Township. He died Nov. 26 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was employed for 24 years as a truck driver for Reitman Industries, West Caldwell, and later for 10 years driving for the Jersey City Board of Education. He was a parishioner of St. John’s Church, Lakehurst. He belonged to the Brick Elks 2151, Brick. An avid golfer, he was also a member of the Irish-American, Organ, and Social Clubs of Leisure Knoll. Born in Jersey City, he lived there for most of his life before moving to Manchester eight years ago.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and his twin, Joseph Sekelsky. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Arahill Sekelsky; a daughter and son in law, Hope and Udi Mekler of Ardmore, Pa.; three sons and two daughters in law, Edward and Deborah Sekelsky of Cranbury, Robert and Catherine Sekelsky of West Milford, and Paul Sekelsky of St. Augustine, Fla. Also surviving are two sisters, Claire Costanza of Toms River, Joan Filarski of Salt Lake City, Utah, and seven grandchildren. Services arranged by the Oliverie Funeral Home, Manchester.
