Tedesco ignites Bengals

At (6-1), the Bengals sit atop the JCC of Bayonne’s Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division while the (2-5) Eagles trail the pack as both squads took the court. Right from the get-go, defense ruled the pace as both teams traded “Picks” with Malachi Smith and James Bajor reeling in errant tosses for the Bengals while Jaime Betancur and Anthony Minotto returned the favor for the Eagles. At the two minute warning, the Bengals and Eagles were locked in a 12-12 tie with Minotto and Betancur finding paydirt for the Eagles while Michael Tedesco and Malachi Smith rang up points for the Bengals. With the game on the line, the Eagles squandered a great defensive effort by Minotto as they couldn’t cash in on an interception at half court. Fueled by their defensive stand, the Bengals’ offense ignited as Jared Radil and Michael Tedesco hauled in TD strikes from their rocket armed QB Drew Radil while Malachi Smith topped off the 14 point burst with a two point dash. Suddenly down 26-12, the Eagles mounted a late game drive as QB Janaaron Aquino zipped passes to Jan Patrick Egan, Chris Ballance and Ryan Ballance but in the end a key stop by Lucas Neukirchner and a “pick” my James Bajor secured the Bengals 26-12 victory.
