WEST NEW YORK — As if his old website did not cause enough controversy, Freeholder Jose Munoz has launched a new website called Wake Up West New York that promises to be just as controversial as the old site.
West New York Mayor Felix Roque was exonerated in federal court on charges that he conspired with his son, Joseph, to hack into Munoz’ old “Recall Roque” web site. Joseph Roque was convicted of a misdemeanor in the case and awaits sentencing.
The new website can be found at www.wakeupwestnewyork.com.
Munoz has emerged as one of the leading opponents of Roque, and appears to be using the site as a potential launching pad either for reelection as freeholder or for a possible mayoral run against Roque in 2015.
The new website differs in one important aspect from the old website in that Munoz is openly supporting the content, which is extremely critical of the Roque administration. On the old website, Munoz was anonymous. – By Al Sullivan
