Bengals stun Eagles

Leading the pack in the JCC of Bayonne’s Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division, the (4-1) Bengals took on the (2-3) Eagles. The Bengals roared out to a 34-0 lead as Michael Tedesco (2TDs), James Bajor (1 TD, 4 expts) Jared Radil (1TD, 2 expts), Malachi Smith (2 expts) and the Bengal’s defense (1 safety) pumbled the Eagles in the early going. Just before half time, the Eagles’ offense finally clicked as Ryan Ballance ran for a TD and reeled in another while Janaaron Aquino’s two point catch made it 34-14, Bengals. Leading by 20, the Bengals kept rolling as Malachi Smith racked up a TD and two point grab followed by Michael Tedesco’s third TD catch, James Bajor’s two point snare and Drew Radil’s TD catch and two point sprint as the Bengal’s lead shot to 58-14. Bolstering the Bengals’ offensive juggernaut was the play of their DB, James Bajor who picked off two second half Eagles’ pass attempts. With the games outcome just about etched in stone, the Eagles kept chopping as Jan Patrick Egan picked off a pass to set up his own TD run and Jaime Betancur’s two point sweep to make it 58-22. The Eagles’ ground game seemed to perk up briefly as Chris Ballance piled up some key yards but the points stayed out of reach. With the game well in hand, the Bengals tacked on some statement points as James Bajor and Jared Radil notched TDs while Drew Radil’s two point rumble capped off the Bengals’ impressive 72-22 victory.
