Rolling into week four the (2-2) Chargers had their sights set on a first place tie as they took on the (3-1) Bengals in a JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division bout. It took the Bengals three plays to take a 6-0 lead as Drew Radil zipped a TD toss to Malachi Smith. The Chargers replied with a TD pass to Adrianna “Magic” Morrone and a two point strike to Jazmine Garcia to take an 8-6 advantage. After reeling in a short toss, the Bengals’ Michael Tedesco raced in for his squad’s second TD making it 12-8. Following a three and out by the Chargers’ offense the Bengals cashed in with a TD pass to Malachi Smith to take an 18-8 lead. Still in the hunt, the Chargers closed the gap to 18-14 on a 25 yard TD sprint by James Johnson. With James Bajor, Lucas Neukirchner, and Jared Radil fueling their defense the Bengals stalled the Chargers again and made it 26-14 on Tedesco’s second TD and Jared Radil’s two point grab. With less than two minutes remaining, the Chargers “Magic” Morrone tallied a TD and two point snare to narrow the margin to 26-22. The Chargers got one last chance to take the lead after Ahmad McGill and Alejandro “See Ya” Cifuentes rushed the ball into Bengals territory but the drive stalled. The Bengals closed out the fray with a TD and two point toss to Malachi Smith as the Bengals prevailed 34-22.
