Coming in at (1-0) both the Bengals and Eagles eagerly awaited their JCC of Bayonne Sr. Division Indoor Flag Football week two showdown. The Bengals’ Malachi Smith got the action started with a TD and 2 point catch while also protecting the Bengals’ 8-0 lead with an interception. Jared Radil then made it 16-0 with a 30 yard TD run and a two point grab. The Eagles cut the Bengals lead to 16-6 with a zone to zone TD strike to Jaime Betancur. With Drew Radil and Michael Tedesco handling the QB position as well as calling most of their own plays the Bengals put up three more TDs as Jared Radil, James Bajor and Malachi Smith each found paydirt. Trailing 34-6, the Eagles Jaime Betancur made it 34-12 with his second TD catch. Two plays later, the Bengals’ aerial attack connected on a coast to coast TD bomb to James Bajor with Bajors’ two point snare giving his squad a 42-12 advantage. The Eagles’ Jaime Betancur would go on to score all 28 of his team’s points with two more TDs and a pair of two point grabs but the Bengals’ Michael Tedesco’s two TD runs and Malachi Smith’s long TD haul secured the Bengals’ 60 -28 victory. Inspite of the score, the Eagles led by, Anthony Minotto, Janaaron Aquino, J.P. Egan, and Ryan and Chris Ball0ance gave their all until the final whistle. A special mention must also be giving to Lucas Neukirchner who played well as the Bengals’ ball control QB.
