Bajor seals Bengals’ win

After falling to (1-2), the Eagles hoped to regroup as they took on the (2-1) Bengals to wrap up their JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division double header. The Eagles’ Jan Patrick Egan gave his squad a quick 6-0 lead with a bruising run from 10 yards out. The Eagles’ defense then took center stage as Janaaron Aquino and Jaime Betancur each picked off Bengals’ pass attempts. It took a great catch and 20 yard run by the Bengals’ Michael Tedesco and a two point sprint by James Bajor to give the Bengals an 8-6 lead. The Bengals’ sluggish start ended when Malachi Smith found the endzone twice on TD strikes of 26 and 35 yards with James Bajor and Michael Tedesco adding two point grabs. Bajor also helped the Bengals’ cause by picking off a pass deep in his own zone. Down by 18 points, the Eagles’ Anthony Minotto reeled in a 20 yard TD toss to make it 24-12, Bengals. With Drew Radil and Michael Tedesco guiding the Bengals’ offense, they stretched their lead to 30-12 on a TD pass to James Bajor. After some heavy pressure from Chris Ballance and Ryan Ballance forced a “pick” by Jaime Betancur, the Eagles took advantage and made it 30-18 on J.P. Egan second TD rumble. The Eagles’ offense had a couple more shots at closing the gap but key plays by the Bengals’ Jared Radil and Lucas Neukirchner kept the Eagles at bay for a 30-18 victory.
