The points racked up quickly as the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division got underway with the Chargers and Bengals facing off. The Bengals built a 14-0 lead as Malachi Smith and Michael Tedesco notched TDs while James Bajor tacked on a two point dash. Aiding in the quick Bengals start was a leaping “pick” by Smith. The Charges’ Ryan Giocoli put his squad back on track with a wire to wire TD grab and a two point catch to make it 14-8, Bengals. Malach Smth continued his strong outing by adding two more TDs on a zone to zone snare and a twenty yard sprint with James Bajor hauling in a two point grab. The Chargers kept close as Adrianna “Magic” Morrone latched onto a TD toss making it 22-14, Bengals. Smith made another long distance score as a red hot Drew Radil launched another TD rocket and after forcing a safety the Bengals’ lead stood at 30-14. For the Bengals, the offensive fireworks never subsided as Smith rolled up 32 points on five TDs and a two point catch while Jared Radil’s three TDs and two point dash paced the second half. The Chargers gave their all with second half TDs by “Magic” Morrone, Alejandro “See Ya” Cifuentes and Ryan Giocoli while James Johnson and Morrone also added two point hauls but in the end the offensive feast wrapped up with the Bengals amazing all with a 66-48 victory. A special mention must be given to the Chargers’ Jazmine Garcia and the Bengals’ Lucus Neukirchner as they helped fuel the late game slugfest.
