China Construction company wants to build 1,000 units in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY – According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, China Construction America Inc., a subsidiary of China State Construction Engineering Corp., has plans to buy land in Jersey City for an estimated $68 million.
The site, on Hudson Street, is currently owned by Hartz Mountain Industries.
If the deal goes through, the company plans to build a 1,000-unit residential housing development. The development would have views of New York, according to the report.
