The JCC of Bayonne’s Indoor Flag Football Jr. Division season got underway as the Colts and Bears hit the court. The Bears’ defense struck first as Michael Egan, Jordan Neustein and Anthony Fraser pinned the Colts’ ball carrier in the endzone for a safety. Down 2-0, the Colts’ Ahmad McGill raced wire to wire to put the Colts up 6-2. After a p.a.t miscue, the Bears’ “D” cashed in again for a safety making it 6-4 Colts. Early in the second half, the Bears’ Ryan Griffin made it 10-6 Bears with a 25 yard TD rumble. After chucking shot passes to Kyle Arano, Kasper Hooks and Michael Aziz, Colts’ QB Chris Ballance drilled a TD strike to Ahmad McGill who gave the Colts a 12-10 lead. Along with his two TD’s, McGill also sparked the Colts’ defense with two “picks.” With time running down, the Bears shifty speedster Matt Miceli zipped in for a long TD run followed by Ryan Griffins’ two point blast to seal the Bears’ 18-12 victory.
