A funeral mass was celebrated Aug. 16 at St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Bayonne, for John Francis Maloney, 86, Retired JCPD, of Bayonne, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away at his residence Aug. 12. Born and raised in Jersey City, John remained a longtime resident until moving to Bayonne 10 years ago. John joined the Jersey City Police Department following his service with the United States Navy. He was a husband and father and grandfather who “loved to feed the ponies” whenever he could. He was a member of the American Legion and the State Retired Police and Fireman’s Association. John is survived by his wife, Nora (nee: Flynn); daughters, Eileen Maloney and Norine and her husband, Tom Salcedo; sons, John Maloney and Terence Maloney; grandchildren, Brian and Sean Salcedo and sister, Mary Germaine. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Tissot and brothers, Timothy and Edward Moloney. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
