A funeral mass was performed Aug. 20 at Assumption R.C. Church, Wood-Ridge, for Ashley Sara Chieco, 26, of Wood-Ridge. She passed away Aug. 16, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Ashley was born in Hoboken, and was a lifelong resident of New Jersey. Ashley was a recent graduate of New Jersey City University where she received her Masters Degree and Professional Diplomas in the field of Psychology. She received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Montclair State University. She was a Supervisor of the Mental Health Unit with the Mental Health Association in New York. In addition, she was a Crisis Counselor at Hoboken University Medical Center and a Psychology Professor at Bergen County Community College. Ashley is survived by her parents, Sara and Joe Chieco; her aunts and uncles, Linda Jaramillo, Silvana Carrera, Pat Garcia, Jim Chieco, Elaine Armas, Gary Chieco, her sister Lisa and her nephew Chase; her maternal grandparents, Martha and Cristobal Carrera and numerous cousins and friends. Ashley was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, James Chieco. Services arranged by the Kohler Funeral Home, Wood-Ridge.
