Got pig? Meat lovers to enjoy ‘Bacon Bash’ in Hoboken in September

HOBOKEN — When someone in a major city says “I smell bacon,” they’re sometimes trying to cleverly hint that the police are around. But if you hear it on Sept. 7, it’s going to be more literal.
A company called iadventure.com plans to hold two “Bacon Bash” events at the Elks Lodge on Washington Street on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Hoboken is becoming more of a destination for foodies, with Carlo’s Bakery increasingly popular because of its reality show status, and the restaurants and delis always drawing fans.
At the bacon event, a dozen — yes, a dozen — vendors will be preparing the dish in different ways.
The invitation notes, “Foodies will gather in Hoboken to revel in the ‘candy of meats.’ ”
There are actually two events that day, and the afternoon event is only open to those 21 or over. For the morning event, families are welcome and kids under 3 are free, so they can develop their craving early.
Don’t worry – American Heart Month was back in February, so there’s no conflict or anything like that.
