Town announces movies, other events

The city of West New York has announced a schedule of free events for the rest of the summer that include movies in the park, concerts, and more.
Begun last year, this year’s slate of events has been expanded to include an art walk during Sunset Sundays. The municipal pool at Blvd. East and Anthony DeFino Way has also been refurbished.
On Aug. 23 and 30 the city is offering the films “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs,” a 2009 American computer-animated comedy, and “Spy Kids 4,” a 4D family-oriented, comedy adventure film directed by Robert Rodriguez and the fourth installment in the Spy Kids series.
Music art and food, all local, Sunset Sundays this year will also include, in addition to singers, a Latin DJ to play dance tunes before and after the main events.

Aug. 18 Sunset Sunday, 6 p.m., Patricia McEldowney Park, Blvd. East between 61st and 62nd streets.
Aug. 23 Movie in the Park, “Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs,” 7:30 p.m., Miller Stadium, Jackson Street between 57th and 59th streets.
Aug. 25 Sunset Sunday, 6 p.m., Patricia McEldowney Park.
Aug. 30 Movie in the Park, “Spy Kids 4,” 7:30 p.m., Miller Stadium.
