A mass of Christian burial was offered Aug. 10 at St. Martha Church, Brick Township, for John F. Mielo, 79, of Cedar Village in Brick Township. He passed away peacefully Aug. 07. Born to James and Angela (Spano) and raised in Union City, John went on to a career with the Union City Board of Education, retiring in 1996 as a school administrator. He was also an active member of the Community Development Agency in Union City. John was predeceased by his parents. He leaves his wife of 44 years Joyce; son James and wife Cynthia of Hainesport; son John and wife Patricia of Pittstown; grandchildren James, Ava, and Emma; sister Phyllis Campagnoli of Wall; and many relatives and friends. Services arranged by the O’Brien Funeral Home, Brick Township.
