A funeral mass took place Aug. 8 at St. Anne’s R.C. Church, Jersey City, for Roy F. Maglori, 79, a life-long Jersey City resident. He passed away at home in the presence of his family on Aug. 3. Roy was the founder and owner of Roy’s Motors, on Newark Avenue, Jersey City. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Clare (nee: Riccio); two sons, Gus and his wife Carlene, and Frank and his wife Cathy; his only daughter, Claudine and her husband Vinnie, and his grandchildren, Roy and his future wife, Franci Guastella, Frankie and the mother of his daughter, Jackie, Angelo and his fiance Michelle, Alyssa and her beau Brian, and Angelina Bella, and one great granddaughter, Isabella. Roy is survived by one brother, Albert “Alby” and his wife, Maryann, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, especially acknowledging his nieces Sandy, Dina, Charissa, and Annamarie, and many in-laws, cousins, friends, and colleagues. Roy was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony “Bimby” and Peter Maglori.
Roy’s lifelong interest in cars began at the age of 12, evolving into a well-established auto business that is still in existence today. Cars were Roy’s passion. Even during his illness, Roy would appear at his garage on Newark Avenue daily, always ready to have input with his family into the everyday operations of the business.
