A funeral service was held July 15 at Monumental Baptist Church, Jersey City, for Jeannette Hendrix (nee: Hazel), of Jersey City. She died on July 8 after a long illness. Born in Egypt, Georgia, Jeannette and her husband moved to Jersey City in 1963. Jeannette was a supervisor for many years at Federated Logistics in Secaucus before retiring. She was a member of the Urban League of Jersey City and a member of the Monumental Baptist Church in Jersey City. Jeannette is survived by her husband John Willard Hendrix Sr., her children John W. Jr., (Natasha), Reginald K., Felecia T. Hendrix-Cuttray (Ronald), Michael A., Jennifer N., and Christol M. Hendrix, as well as siblings Eugene Hazel Jr., twin sister Bernice Hazel, Laura M. Hazel, Cornelia Hazel and Yvonne Brooks. Jeannette is the grandmother of 18 and great grandmother of 15. Jeannette was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Hendrix-Ransom and siblings Hamp C.
